The goal of stormwater quality improvement technology is to reduce pollution discharge to the environment.  Through GPT, WSUD and stormwater harvesting auditing our goal is to empower managers with quality information to priorities, budget and carry out works on these critical assets to ensure they are operational!

Councils and asset managers operate thousands of stormwater treatment solutions such as GPTs, nets, trashracks, spill control, WSUD assets, oil and grit traps and harvesting schemes.  Critical to these is regular maintenance which is all too often neglected due to poor understanding of the cleaning process and lack of committed funds.

Optimal Stormwater encourage asset managers to discuss their need with us.  Why spend millions of dollars on capital to protect the environment then let these assets fall into disrepair.  To benefit from the investment a thorough audit is recommended once a decade to understand what assets you operate and how they’re actually working.  This is known as a GPT Audit.  We heard positive feedback from others who had gone down this path, and decided to start our “Journey of GPT Improvement”.

The purpose of an audit is to validate asset records in regards to the type and size of each device, operational status, cleaning requirements, and identify any issues causing a lack of performance.  Issues such as functionality, bypassing, surcharging, lids, maintenance access, and of course cleaning techniques were all included in the audit.
