Leichhardt City Council – Birchgrove Oval GPT and Stormwater Harvesting

Council selected Optimal Stormwater to undertake the feasibility, then concept design, then detail design for a stormwater harvesting system at Birchgrove Oval near Balmain.
The offtake and primary treatment is an area that many stormwater harvesting systems fail or do not work to expectation.

For this project the offtake had to be at or near a pipe junction, whilst being at a level that would work for the flow getting to the storage. The GPT selected for this catchment and project was the P1012 CDS unit, due to its flexibility to take 2 pipes at 90 degrees at the inlet, and also the ease of connection to the pumpwell next to the outlet. Due to its functionality and reliability it is also the most appropriate GPT for most stormwater harvesting pre-treatments.
